Four glasses of Lucid tonight, prepared with C&H cocktail cubes and an Absente spoon. None were ignited.
First, I would like to say that there is a nice opalescent louche, reminescent of La Muse Verte.
The taste is definately off into the wormwood zone, not at all in the licorice arena.
I would have suspected that four shots of 124-proof would have given me a better alcohol buzz, but other than feeling a mite flushed, I didn't feel anything from it.
I wasn't expecting any 'secondaries' and didn't experience any.
There are other things that I enjoy much more - this has been something of a dissapointment.

I have yet to see Lucid in Europe. Absente is being sold though, and has reached a local store in the Devil's playground (Prague). -

Sat, December 22, 2007 - 10:58 AMAbsente isn't worth the glass it's bottled in. Skip it and drink pastis, instead (or, better yet, go straight to the absinthe!) -

Re: Lucid
Sat, December 22, 2007 - 1:58 PMHello, Johanna:
I have to report some interesting dreams as a result of mixing Absente with Agwa.
The following mornings (which is to say this has happened on more than on occasion), as I was drifting into and out of wakefulness, I had multiple lucid dreams, some of which included benign monsters.
None of them wanted to discuss Philosophy. -

Sat, January 5, 2008 - 10:17 AMHiya Kurt,
If it helps you get what you want, then drink what you like. ;)
I've been having lucid dreams for years - long before I encountered absinthe. I don't know what I'd do if absinthe aggravated 'em! Never get *any* sleep, probably. ;)

Wed, December 26, 2007 - 2:50 PMIt's horrible. It made my stomach hurt- even when I increased the ration to 10:1. Couldn't even finish it.

Mon, January 7, 2008 - 5:00 PMIt's a mouthful of very strong flavors; not surprising at all that many people hate it!
I just hope they contact me to sell me the remainder of their bottles...;)

Re: Lucid
Mon, December 31, 2007 - 2:05 PMI thoroughly enjoy the Lucid and as it's one of two commercially available brands I'm quite happy with it. At $62.00 for a .7l bottle with free shipping from drinkupny.com it's not a bad alternative to spending twice the money to get European brands shipped over. It even scored a 77/100 at www.feeverte.net buyer guide, which is pretty good considering how brands get dogged on that site.
